Meet Cub in the Tub
No more Tears or Tantrums
Cub in the Tub is a bath time aid that helps ease your child’s anxiety at bath time while you wash their hair. It works by encouraging your child to look up high to stay dry while engaging with their new friend.
Our Story: Creating Cub in the Tub
Washing your toddler’s hair shouldn’t be a traumatic experience. Cub in the Tub was created as a solution to a desperate situation — ours.
When Gabriel, our son, was 18 months old, trying to wash his hair usually resulted in coaxing him to tilt his head back when it was time to wash. But of course, this rarely worked. Every time I attempted to wash and rinse his hair, he would tilt his head down and start screaming!
I felt awful watching it unfold.
This went on for weeks, and of course, we tried everything. We tried different products that ended up being temporary solutions to a bigger problem: Gabriel was very anxious getting his hair washed.
We were desperate to find a solution that would actually get our son to enjoy bath time again.
Asking that question led to discovering the idea for Cub in the Tub.
A lot of thought and research were invested into Cub In The Tub. Our goal was to create a character kids will WANT to bond with and look up to (quite literally!). To accomplish the goal, the book’s narrative needed to be validating, entertaining, and reassuring. The Cub features an attached loop in the back with which to hang it up high during bath time. We designed its body to be a cozy plush material to enable children to cuddle, sleep and play with it.
Sweet rhymes and whimsical illustrations make for fun reading children will eagerly look forward to again and again. Reading the book and cuddling with the cub facilitates a loving bond between children and the cub. A trusting relationship will blossom as children realize that looking up high keeps their faces dry!
